Learn About Our Professional Danville Martial Arts Staff
All martial arts instructors at Tao Sports Taekwondo in Danville, CA are trained to ensure that our martial arts classes are safe, effective and fun.
Our martial arts Danville instructors and instructor assistants are all required to complete an intensive martial arts leadership training prior to teaching or assisting in the classroom. During these martial arts training classes, the focus is on more than just teaching martial arts skills. Instructors also learn how to work with all students, tailoring their martial arts teaching methods to fit the individual child. Emphasis is put on encouragement and positive correction.

Our martial arts instructors are committed to teaching the physical skills of martial arts while applying attitude-shaping exercises aimed at bringing out the best character and physical potential in each student. Through weekly martial arts training, instructors advance their own martial art and educational knowledge to become even more effective martial arts teachers.
The Danville Martial Arts instructors are required to maintain their personal level of martial arts knowledge.
Master Rick Kemsley
Master Kemsley has been taking Taekwondo since 1978 in Southern California. He received his black belt from Grandmaster Sang Lee in Colorado Springs. Master Kemsley has medaled in several National and two International events over his competitive career. He is an international referee who has worked the 2008 Hanmadang and is a Master Instructor certified by Kukkiwon in Korea. He is also a master in Haidong Gumdo, a Korean Sword martial art which he also teaches at Tao Sports.
Master Kemsley started and has operated Tao Sports Taekwondo since 2002 and has been teaching for the last 15 years. He ran the international consulting arm of a software for the 10 years before that. He has a BS in Business Management from Pepperdine University.
Master Kemsley has his 6th Dan from USAT (the governing body of taekwondo for the USOC), a 5th Dan from the AAU and a 4th Dan from Kukkiwon.
Master Kemsley also teaches Scuba Diving and holds a Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification in PADI. He volunteers as a Public Service diver for the Contra Costa County Sheriffs.
Master Kemsley started and ran the Discover Danville Assoc. (a 501c3 local business not for profit group) to help downtown merchants.
Master Ayouba Karamoko
Master Karamoko is a 4th Dan with over 20 years of competition and teaching experience in TAekwondo. A California State and US National champion, Master K has a broad range of success. Recognized as a serious and driven Coach, he has acquired a reputation of athletic and moral excellence. He is also a avid soccer player and a reggae music lover.
His unique and laid back formulation of coaching and social skills is successful. To the parents and studentswho know him and to thousands of athletes and artists Master K represents an achievement in mind, body and spirit.
Mr. Christopher Veneracion

Mrs. Diane Kemsley
Mrs. Kemsley is a 2nd Dan in Taekwondo which she has been taking since 2002. She as been teaching for the past two years.
Mr. Christopher Kemsley
Mr. Kemsley is Master Kemsley's son and literally grew up in the dojang. He is teaching for his 2nd dan this winter and is going to school up in Santa Rose |
